Creepy-Crawly Carnival

Bring the whole family to this matinee concert celebrating wild animals and creepy crawlies! Roussel The Spider’s Feast: Symphonic Fragments Saint-Saëns Carnival of the Animals It’s a bug’s life in Roussel’s The Spider’s Feast, a suite depicting the insects found in a garden. This special performance moves from the garden to the Aotearoa New Zealand native bush with Giant Wetas, Huhu Grubs and all the fluttering life found in the forest. One thing is always clear, the spider is always looking for lunch. This work is guaranteed to make the kids laugh, smile, and squirm! We also welcome Oscar-winning songwriter and funny man Bret McKenzie. Last seen with NZSO for our 2018 Muppets concerts, McKenzie returns to narrate a staple of kids’ classical music: Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals. Come for the bouncing kangaroos, gliding swans, and galumphing elephants – and stay for the great music.
